Who we are

We don't cut corners.
Full stop.

Bryan White served a two-year carpentry apprenticeship as a teenager before spending three decades in IT service management at government and corporate scale, reaching ITIL Master level. The Earthquake Commission. The Ministry of Education. Environments where things had to work, you documented what you did, and you stood behind it.

He came back to the trades in 2018. The carpentry skills never left. The operational standards built into those organisations came back with him.

We know these houses: the 1940s bungalows, the weatherboard villas, the exposed sections that take a beating every winter. We know what lasts and what doesn't.

NEBOSH trained. Fully insured. We clean up after ourselves. Every single time.

What it costs

Straight pricing.
No surprises.

We charge for time actually spent on your job, with no quoting overhead and no padded estimates. Most trades businesses won't tell you their rates until after they've been to your house. We publish ours before you even call, and we stand behind them.

Is my job too small?

Almost certainly not. The minimum charge covers two hours, so bring a list and we'll work through it. Small jobs done right save bigger bills later.

Do you come to my town?

Masterton, Carterton, Greytown, Featherston, Martinborough and the wider Wairarapa. Out of town is $1.21/km, confirmed before booking.

Do I need a formal quote?

Only if the job is likely over $2,000. Below that it's faster and cheaper to just get it done. We'll tell you which applies.

What if you find more problems?

We'll tell you before we go further. No nasty surprises. We check in if something changes scope.

Can I bundle a few jobs?

Yes, and you should. Once we're on site the minimum is covered. Three jobs in one visit beats three separate call-outs.

Will George be there?

George attends every job. This is non-negotiable and has never been up for discussion.

01

Time & materials only

You pay for hours worked and materials used, and nothing else. No administration surcharge, no travel markup for Masterton jobs.

02

No surprises mid-job

If a job looks like running longer than expected we'll stop and check in with you first. No clock running in the background.

03

Quotes for bigger work

Anything likely to top $2,000 gets a proper written quote. The $247.50 visit fee is credited back in full if the work goes ahead. Book a Quote →

Standard rates $247.50 — first 2 hrs on site, Masterton (travel incl.)  ·  $109.25/hr after that  ·  $1.21/km outside Masterton
Why do we publish our rates?

Most tradespeople don't. We do because you deserve to make an informed decision before you even pick up the phone, and because we're confident enough in what we deliver to put the number out there.

The rate reflects proper carpentry training, 30 years in IT service management, NEBOSH health and safety training, and full public liability insurance.

If cost is the only thing you're comparing, we might not be the right fit. If you want the job done right and not again next year, give us a call.
